The Electronic Course Authorization System (ECAS) is the system by which individual courses are proposed, reviewed, and approved for the course catalog.
ECAS is a secure system that requires x.500 authentication to enter, edit, or approve courses. All U of M faculty and staff can view ECAS entries.

- If you have been through training for the new ECAS and have problems logging in to the application to update or approve courses, contact the Help Desk at 612-301-4357 (1-HELP).
- If you need to be authorized to enter or approve courses in ECAS, arrange for training from the Student Records Training team. Your supervisor's approval will be required.
Please note that because of the x.500 security requirements, there is a timeout on the use of ECAS. If you have the application open for more than 30 minutes with no activity, you will be asked to sign in again.
